Reliability issues in Next Generation Optical Networks (RONEXT)
COST270 WG1 workshop
The current evolution of the information society is relying more than ever
on the availability of an efficient communications infrastructure. The
purpose of this workshop is to report the latest advances in research on
Next Generation Optical Network's reliability. Topics of relevance include
but are not limited to:
- Basic Methods and Theory for Survivable Network Design and
Operation
- Survivable Network Architectures (Protection
&Restoration)
- Network Reliability & Availability
- Optical Components & Systems Reliability
- Architecture and Reliability of Network Nodes
- Reliability Performance Evaluation (Analytical, Simulation,
Experimental)
- Reliability Measures and Guarantees, Cost - performance Analysis
- QoS Aspects, Network Resource Management & Traffic
Engineering
- Multilayer Interactions
- Reliability of Free-Space Optical Systems
